I saw a girl crying and I went to go and sit next to her. I work for a building company downtown and I stay just over the bridge. We were in the suburbs doing bathroom renovations on a house in an affluent area. My boss had previously told me to stay away from the owners of the house. I am quite sure he finds his staff members embarrassing because we are so poor. I understand that and he has a reputation to uphold but he cannot tell me not to act on my emotions. The greatest gift that I have is my humanity. I may be poor but I care about people and that will never change. When I saw the young girl crying I could not just ignore her and carry on working. I was not looking for an excuse to put my tools down. I was looking for a reason to stop the tears and there were so many.

Replacing the Guest Room Sofa
Thursday, November 3rd, 2011We decided to replace the guest room sofa and put in a bed instead. Of course, I’ll also put on some gorgeous calvin klein bedding to make the room dazzle. One of the reasons for doing this is because I snore at night. My husband has trouble sleeping and will go to the guest room at night when this happens. He wakes up with a back problem because the sofa is not comfortable.
I hope to get some solution to my snoring problem, but in the meantime, we need to sometimes use the guest room to resolve this issue. The guest room of course is also used when relatives from out of town visit us. My favorite aunt is coming the third week in November so I want the room to be read for her visit. She never complained about the couch, but she has arthritis and I am sure a bed will be much better for her medical condition.

More and more folks realize that there is only so much space in the landfills and that there is only so much resources available for us all. I’m glad for the changes taking place where people are trying to reduce their carbon footprint. All it takes is for each of us to make a tiny effort and we can turn things around. I used to not care about throwing things in the trash. All of my life someone came and hauled the trash away no matter how much I threw away. During the holiday season the boxes and extra bags lined our sidewalk. Still, someone came and took it away. I made it a personal mission to cut down on what I was throwing away. That was the main reason I got started in composting. My next project is a garden for that rich soil I’m making.
