She Was a Fine Dog
Thursday, December 29th, 2011When our sweet Maggie died, we were sad but also grateful. She was just a puppy when we got her from the shelter, and we had her for 15 wonderful years. She was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was just four years old, then she was diagnosed with cancer when she was nine years old. We treated her for both until the day she went to Heaven, and we learned so much from her about life in general with how she handled her treatments. We wanted to honor her life so we looked at pet headstones so we could put one where she is buried in our family cemetery. We have a picture of her on it along with her name and the dates of her birth and death. We miss our old girl so much, but we know that we will be reunited with her one day. Until then, we will raise more puppies into fine dogs just like she was.
